If you search for 'juror 52', this is the guy they've been featuring in news a lot lately, and the focus has been on his experience as a the first juror to speak out since the trial. So I never bothered reading it, just a bunch of drama and nothing.

Then, it comes out that he was identified as wearing a BLM hat and t-shirt while attending a 'get your knee off my neck' rally featuring speakers from George Floyd's family. 

What a coincidence his keen insights and human interest story value have been highlighted ahead of time to blot out the underlying issue. Headlines like 'Chauvin trial juror says it was like watching somebody die on a daily basis'. 

So, Brandon, tell us how you were traumatized and tormented sitting through the trial, hearing of this horrible injustice for the very first time, ever.

Now that Chauvin has been convicted, next comes the determination about whether any aggravating factors existed.

The first possible aggravating factor is whether the victim was “treated with particular cruelty.” The second is if a child was present. Witnesses at the scene and who testified included two teens who were 17 at the time, as well as a 9-year-old.

“If they find aggravating factors the judge could go all the way up to the statutory maximum, which for count one is up to 40 years, count two up to 25 years, and count three up to 10 years,” attorney Joe Tamburino told WCCO.

If Chauvin is acquitted, he still could face federal criminal civil rights charges. A grand jury has been meeting to consider those charges, and if he were to be charged and convicted in federal court, that sentence could be up to life in prison.
